Rainfall is one of the most important factors which cause the landslide. TheChinese Geology Disaster Database has recorded the landslide disasters from 1949 to1995 in our country, 68.5% of which have been caused by rain. Tiantai villagelandslide, a super-giant landslide in Xuanhan country of Sichuan Province, is a typicalslope is caused by rainfall. Draining the surface water, reducing percolation, lowingthe ground water are the key measures to control this kind of landslide. In order toarrange artificial drainage system reasonably and scientifically, it is necessary toclearly analyze the surface water conditions and distribution characteristics, andmoving conditions of the ground water in landslide region. This paper takes Tiantaivillage landslide as a case, analyzing engineering geological conditions and therainfall slope mechanism of this landslide, and studying distribution characteristicsand moving conditions and course of the ground water under the different situationsby using the method of the numerical simulation. The main content and conclusions isfollowing aspects:(1) The paper analyzes the genesis mechanism of Tiantai super-giant landslide isinduced by rainfall in Xuanhan County of Sichuan Province. And put forwards themodel of the super-giant multi-step translational gliding landslide forming on nearhorizontal rock layer.(2) And draws a conclusion that the scale of ground water plays a decisive roleon the stability of this landslide by analyzing stability in different water levelsituation.(3) On the basis of analyzing vadose region in the field of landslide, the generallyhydrologic model in the region of landslide is established, and the characteristic andchange of vadose region of ground water is simulated. And proof that the effect ofartificial drainage system is good.(4) Because of the artificial drainage system of this landslide is operating, Siteinvestigation and the conclusion of numerical computation confirm that the conditionof the artificial drainage system operate well. At the same time, this article proposesoptimization design plan for the artificial drainage system. It has the model value fordesigning other artificial drainage system in similar landslide.
