| The development of agroeconomy is extremely important for regional sustainabledevelopment of agroeconomy in China. Firstly, this study has discussed factors includingpopulation, resources and environment, which have influences on the development ofagroeconomy. Then, the author has chosen Sanming city in southern China as the studyarea, established comprehensive evaluation system according to the related theory andlocal realities and extracted data by the use of geographic analysis and geographicinformation system (GIS). Meanwhile, the author has assessed the agroeconomicsustainable development of Sanming city by the models of weighted arithmetic meansynthesis and artificial neural networks (ANN) and discovered that ANN is suit forcomprehensive assessment of agroeconomy in Sanming city by comparing with twomodels output results and carefully analysing output results. Finally, it has developed theagroeconomic sustainable development comprehensive assessment geographic informati-on system of Sanming city in southern China by applying VB 6.0+MapObjects 2.2software and the models of ANN, then made multi-dimensional evaluation on the outputresults.
