An experimental and theoretical study on fabricating Pulse Compression Grating with large aperture and low diffraction wavefront aberration is presented in this paper. The main contents are as follows:Firstly, the significance of the research on the Inertial Confinement Fusion (ICF) and the progress of the research on Pulse Compression Grating (PCG) are introduced. Begin with the diffraction wavefront aberration, the relation between it and the relative adjust error of the two points is analyzed. By using quadratic least squarea fit, the coefficients of each item in diffraction wavefront aberration are gained and their determinate factors are finded. Also the affect of the focal ratio of the system on the diffraction wavefront aberration is considered.The method of fabricating standard grating is introduced. The diffraction wavefront aberration of the grating fabricated under present experimental condition is calculated. When using it as standard grating and adjust optical route using moire fringes method, the affect of the standard grating on the grating fabricated is open out.Because each adjust quantity in experimental is not precise, the laws of distortion of moire fringes caused by various adjust errors of the two point resources and lens are researched. Also the affect of the various location errors of the standard grating on moire fringes is analyzed.The diffraction wavefront aberration caused by the different central height of the two lens and the intersection of the two axes deviation the grating surface is compensated, and the compensated rules are summarized. The adjust craft of the plano-convex lens interference optical route by using moire fringes means is expatiated. Adjust optical route following the adjust craft and fabricate grating. Through measurement it achieves the target of the item.
