The mechanical property curve of the Vol.3, handbook of mechanical properties of aircraft structuralmetals is studied in this paper from inputting to post disposal and the main aspects include the inputting,displaying, pre-disposal, identifying and the post disposal of the curve. The program is achieved byvirtue of Visual C++6.0.To begin with the inputting of the curve, the mechanism of the inputting is introduced via Visual C++and its deficiency is analyzed. On the basis, the method of inputting is presented in the form of BMPfile.On the part of the pre-disposal, the grey conversion is proceeding to convert the graph of 256 colorsto grey graph. In allusion to yawp, the smoothing template and the smoothing technique are presentedand the theory of cleaning away the yawp and the characteristics of them are analyzed. On the basis, themethod of combination of smoothing template and median filtering is adopted. The binary image isprecondition that the image processing techniques including mathematical morphology are executed.Threshold translation is the realization of the conversion from the grey graph to binary image. After this,the appropriate arithmetic operators of mathematical morphology may be used. Then the thinningarithmetic on the basis of mathematical morphology is presented to change the width of curve fromseveral or more than dozen pixels to a pixel.With regard to the central part, the actual state of coordinate axis is analyzed first, then the theory ofthe projection method is introduced. On the basis, the method of identifying coordinate origin ispresented. In regard to end point of coordinate axis and the points just on the curve, the identifyingmethods of identifying each point orderly is adopted.The post disposal is a total appraisement for identifying result. In this section, the result is estimatedby redrawing each point and related parameters, such as E,σ_p and so on, are calculated by simulatingcurve.
