On the base of studying and analyzing visualization in scientific computation and Geological Information System, effective and convenient visualization means for two dimensional geological data are explored. Using the Object-Oriented analysis method to encapsulate data and methods of the model, classes and objects of the model are designed. Using programming language of Visual C++ 6.0 for Windows 2000 operation system, the following functions are achieved: display and browse for two dimensional geological data, connection between vector data and attribute data, and interface between expendable symbol library and user self-defined symbol library, all of which provide the system very dynamic extensibility and reusability of codes. Practices prove that it can satisfy the effective description for two dimensional data in geological study to choose shape file as the format for saving geological data.
