Because of rapid expansion of human activities on the Earth's System, economic development and population growth brought about by the unprecedented growth in demand, caused by global warming, ozone depletion, land degradation, species extinction, the lack of resources and frequent natural disasters such as a series of major global environmental and disasters, these endanger the survival of humankind scientific problems with the corresponding need for modern scientific methods to study the Earth from space on the location of speaking, have crossed the regional, national boundaries; research methods speaking, the need for multidisciplinary cross, integration, from the technical perspective, the need for a new "Digital Earth Platform". On this platform, all scientists, multidisciplinary scientists can be their own research results through the platform visualization, and analysis. Thus, it would generate some new scientific knowledge to these major problems. Therefore, the Digital Earth Platform comes into being. The discussion group proposes a new theory of Network Environment Digital Platform and G/S pattern from the study "Digital China" and "Digital City" and "Digital Tourism" and the supporting of a number of projects. G/S pattern, which is Geo-Information Browser/Spatial Information Server pattern. The pattern is the third pattern after current structure of network software C/S (client/server) and B/S (browser/server). Geo-Information Browser not only supports the functions of the current Web Browser, but also can browse all kinds of spatial information, and three-dimensional model shows, and other functions. It will be an important direction of development of the next Web Browser. The Spatial Data Service System is based on the Digital Earth Platform, is through the Geo-Information Browser as human-computer interface, and publishes spatial data-sharing services. In this article, the author elaborates and distinguishes the broad and narrow "Digital Earth Platform", researches on the related theories, key technologies, and frame systems and data standards, for the future in-depth study on Digital Earth Platform to lay solid theoretical foundation. According to figures from the earth platform in the theoretical requirements, through in-depth study of spatial data service system in the spatial data layers, grade, seamless connectivity and the establishment of index and the technical principle of spatial data exchange standards KML, to design a service system. It is through Geo-Information Browser as the performance tools, using multi-resolution space image data and vector data, to achieve the performance of spatial information, the integration of information resources and the application of space-sharing network to verify the correctness and feasibility of the theory. Finally, the author successfully uses of such a service system designed to share the platform. It implements the spatial data storage, release, update, organization and management. The show has broken the previous formal sharing of information here in a single text and photo description, and it uses space information technology such as Remote Sensing Technology and 3D visualization technology to provide us with a new, interactive resources and information-sharing tools.
