Nowadays thousands of earthquake records were collected with the development of the technology of the strong ground motion surveying and expand of the surveying station array scale.And it's a very important subject that how to use this valuable ground motions adequately and correctly.This article research work was development the earthquake database with VC 6.0++ on the research results in thereference in the foundation,.We must study the problems about the earthquake database if we want to build a effective earthquake database. This article studies the content mainly includes following threeaspects:First,the engineering characteristic of earthquake has been studied.Now ,because of different research goal and angle,there are many different definition about the effective amplitude,frequency spectrum characteristic and effective duration which are three essential factors about the influence of structure earthquake responded.,this has brought very many difficulties to the application.This article has appraisal the commonly used amplitude and duration, and emphatically has compared several kind of definitions difference andthe applicable scope,has given their computational method based on refering to in the massive literature material. In this part final,the suggestion has been given whice is suitable to the project application.In this article,the frequency spectrum characteristic of the earthquake has been described by fourier amplitude spectrum, power spectrum and response spectrum.Second, elaborate and analyze the wavecontrol target question of the input seismic motion comprehensivly. Based on earthquake resistance standard to the dynamic time history analysis(GB50011-2001),this article add the function of selection wave by two frequency band to the system through Contrasting and analysising existing choosing wave plan; Simultaneously, the sample capacity of the input seismic motion has been discussed in this part.Third,elaborate and analyze the elastic-plastic analysis of SDOF comprehensivly. The content mainly has three aspects:â‘ Numerical analysis method selection;â‘¡Damp model choice and its serviceable analysis;â‘¢The comparation with different yield strength Ratio, the establishment of restoring-force model and elastic-plastic response of SDOF about ertain intensity or certain ductilicy. Visual C++ is a widespread use procedure develops platform, it has provided the nimble programme way and rich method for us and it is a powerful tool for us to realize the more complex and more efficient program.This article has realized the system frame and the database development work by VC.And earthquake parameter computational method,the selection of wave and the elastic-plastic analysis of SDOF has been realized in this system frame. It has significance extremely to introduce VC platform into civil engineering.This article has provided the beneficial reference about the software development based on VC,and it has provided the effective tool about the seismic motion analysis.
