Research On Cartographic Visualization For Statistical Data

The statistical data is the reflection of all kinds of social economy phenomenon. For the purpose of describing the social economy characteristic objectively and completely, we must conclude the space location and operation condition and so on, also their interaction and influence in the spatial should be conclude too. In recent years, the social sciences domain is convinced the importance of the geography space information, representing in the statistical discipline is the union research between GIS and statistical are more and more, and pay more and more attention to the geography space characteristic of the statistical data.The cartographic visualization has good characteristic such as vivid, dynamic and interaction, these characteristic provide a quite good solution to solve the statistical data cognition.This paper has analyzed the statistical cartographic system or module, the statistical electronic atlas as well as the correlation scholarly bookmaking and article which in domestic and foreign at present, summarized the research situation of the statistical cartographic, concluded the prominent problems in the statistical cartographic system. Analyzed the characteristic of the statistical data and our country's statistical situation, from the point of view for the common users, concluded the representation methods of cartographic visualization for statistical data, including representation methods for statistical map, the statistical symbols, data graduation method and so on. Brought up the statistical data classified method, concluded the most suitable cartographic visualization method which each kind of data class corresponded. Based on the deep research about paper map legend and electronic map legend, this paper have discussed the classification and characteristic of the electronic map legend, brought up the design rules and methods to solve the problems of the statistical electronic map legend. Finally, the author have designed and developed a cartographic visualization system for statistical data, this system has realized the human nature interaction function for the statistical cartographic, also has realized some effective interaction cognition function, and the author has done some research on the user interface of this system.
