This paper researches and realizes the receive unit of the GPS receiver. GPS is the abbreviation of Global Positioning System, which uses the satellite to navigate and measure location. It consists of three parts, the GPS satellite, the ground control system and GPS receiver. GPS receiver is used by ordinary user, and it also consists of three parts, the antenna front-end modules, baseband unit and positioning solution modules.It focuses on the research on the algorithm of baseband signal processing in GPS receiver and the affection and the solution on multipath effect, which may occur in the real environment. The innovation of this paper is analyzing the affection on the tracking accuration by the multipath signal, giving an open-loop model on the calculation of the intensity of the multipath signal, proposing the solution on reducing the affection of multipath effect and giving the VLSI implementation structure.The major part of this paper is concerntrated on expatiation of the major algorithms on GPS signal capturing and tracking. And a suitable structure on the capture and tracking module is determined after considering both the amount of the algorithms and the difficulty of the implementation. The affection and the solution caused by multipath effect are also discussed in detail.Finally, this paper gives the VLSI implementation structure of the capture module and the tracking module. The verification of the structure is also given in this paper. It shows that the structure can be completed to receive real-time GPS signal.
