The present thesis mainly deals with taxonomy of the family Cixiidae of Fulgoroidea from China. The research history of Cixiidae is reviewed both worldwide and in China. Their morphology, geographical distribution as well as the material and methods in this research are introduced. In the present paper, 2subfamilies, 2tribes, 9 genera, 39 species are recorded, of which 17 species are new to science, 1 genus and 2 species are newly recorded from China. Keys to all the subfamilies, genera and species are given, the male genitalia of all the new species are illustrated. At the end of the paper, cited literature and checklists of scientific names and Chinese names are attached.The new taxa, new records from China proposed in this study are as follows:New species: Reptalus foliprocessus sp. nov., Oecleopsis spinosus sp. nov., Oecleopsis wuyiensis sp. nov., Oecleopsis tiantaiensis sp. nov., Pentatiridius sinoapicalis sp. nov., Pentatiridius sinoleporinus sp. nov., Oliarus rectangularis sp. nov., Oliarus pentaserratus sp. nov., Oliarus triserratus sp. nov., Indolipa motuonus sp. nov., Kuvera longshengensis sp. nov., Kuvera jianfenglingensis sp. nov., Kuvera langpingensis sp. nov., Kuvera emeina sp. nov., Trirhacus spiriformis sp. nov., Cixius yigongensis sp. nov., Cixius beibengensis sp. nov.New generic record: Trirhacus Fieber rec. nov.New specific records: Indolipa kurseongensis rec. nov., Kuvera kurilensis rec. nov.The type specimens of the new species are all deposited in the Northwest A & F University (NWAFU).
