Within the framework of the effective field theory(EFT)and cutting approximation, The critical properties and compensation behaviors of mixed spin Blume-Capel model in an external magnetic field are investigated.Firstly,we study the critical properties and magnetization behaviors of mixed spin Blume-Capel model in a trimodal magnetic field are investigated. The change of negative crystal field and trimodal concentration can affect the tricritical point(TCP),the second-order phase and the magnetic field degeneration at ground state in T-H space. In T-D space, the trajectory of the TCP takes on the acre curve and there exist the two TCPs under certain condition. In addition to giving one or two compensation temperature points in M-T space, the mixed spin Blume-Capel model also provides one or two compensation magnetic field points in M-H space in a certain range of trimodal magnetic field concentration, temperature and crystal field.Secondly, the properties of bond dilution mixed Blume-Capel model in bimodal magnetic field are investigated. The phase diagrams and compensation behaviors take on new characteristics.TCP is always existent in T-D space, while the TCP appears in smaller or larger range of negative D / J values for T-H space. The bond dilution can depress the TCP.The influence of crystal field and bimodal magnetic field on the induced ordering phase at bond percolation threshold is revealed. The system may take on one or two magnetic compensation points in M-H space. The bond dilution has the effect of changing one or two magnetic compensation points.Lastly,we discuss the magnetization behaviors of mixed spin Blume-Capel model with transverse fields in an external magnetic field. In M-T space the range of crystal field that can cause the single or double compensation point is transformed due to the change of different sublattices transverse fields. In M-H space if different sublattices are in the transverse field, the system shows one magnetic compensation point when the negative crystal field is larger, but there exist many differences between the magnetization curves. In this work we also investigate the effect of change of different sublattices transverse fields and temperature on the system.
