At current times, the road map of GIS has already divided into three directions: the traditional Geographical Information System, the Geographical Information Science and the Geographical Information Service. The main role Geographical Information Service plays is to offer various bread-and-butter and convenient location-oriented services for whole netizens. The rapid emerging and development of Geographical Information Service contributes a lot to the popularity drive of Geographical Information by making more and more people begin to realize the power of itGoogle takes the lead in offering Geographical Information Services within today's massive supplier of Geographical Information Services. On account of the concept of offering efficient and high-quality services and the huge influences of its brand, Google maps and Google Earth have already became the most influential spatial information platform all over the world. The new applications based on Google spatial information platform are emerging everyday overseas, while in China, it is just in the beginning. Under such circumstances, combined with the trends of latest technologies, researches on Google spatial information platform will bring tangible benefit for the sound development of China's Geographical Information Services industry.This thesis, which is constituted by six chapters, analyzed Google spatial information platform from a comprehensive perspective including characteristics, marketing strategy, basic theories and applications. Chapter one concerns introduction, which analyzed the back-ground, advantages and characteristics of Google spatial information platform and then showed the contents and meaning of this thesis. The second chapter analyzed the differences of marketing strategy between Google and ESRI at first, followed by the analysis of other strategies including information exchange, information convergence, and massive support. The third chapter analyzed the method of data organization and loading, followed by the analysis of Google spatial information platform API. The forth one discussed how to realize locally Google maps Mashup by solving institutional problems and choosing framework of latest technologies. In the end, a case is shown. The fifth chapter mainly focuses on Google Earth platform, including the making and publishing of "kml" files and development of Google Earth itself. The sixth one summarized and looked forward the research direction of this thesis.The research results are as follows:â‘ offering references for China's internet spatial information services suppliers when competing in the intense marketâ‘¡offering references for wright of similar platform by analyzing methods of data organization of Google spatial information platformâ‘¢solved the problem of Geocoding function which Google does not offer due to legal restrictions; Apart from that, a best development model has been realized by comparing latest technologies,â‘£offering realization process of Mashup on Google Earth by the development of "kml" files. In addition, the extended development of Google Earth has been realized, both of which can be functioned as a guide to publish and share spatial data in the new 3D platform.
