Design Of Spatial-temporal Database Of Land Use Change And Function Realization

Spatial-temporal data model is the core of Temporal Geographic Information System (TGIS),and it can organize and manage temporal geographic data effectively.Currently, due to its complexity,spatial-temporal data model is still a very challenging issue.In this paper,taking the land use data of Xiamen City,that is the data of 1989,1997 and 2004 as a case,the design of land use temporal-spatial data model and function realization are discussed,including these aspects as follows:(1)Summarize the research overview relevant to the spatial-temporal data model, including research progress of spatial-temporal data mode,the time and the spatial-temporal topological relations in spatial-temporal database.(2)In the paper,the newly change conception of spatial-temporal data model was proposed..With the thought of base state with amendments model,the frame of the revised model in the paper was designed and the method of extracting unchanged and changed information was presented.Then the design for the structure of spatial-temporal database was presented.(3)With the land use data of 1989,1997 and 2004 in Xiamen City,the modeling of land use change process in Xiamen City was preliminarily realized.Then with the development platform of VB.NET and the develop kit of component GIS,ArcObjects,the functions,that is time section recovery,history data retrace of single feature and dynamic statistics of changed data,were realized.(4)Taking the indexes of data storage,function realization and query efficiency,the design mode of land use change spatial-temporal database proposed in the paper was evaluated, pointing out the advantages and disadvantages of the model and discussing the issues encountered in the study.The research result shows that the land use spatial-temporal data model proposed in the paper,can be used to organize the land use spatial-temporal data.Furthermore,it is easy to extend the functions of the model.
