There is no doubt that faults and hydrocarbon accumulation are closely related. Faults have control function on generating, migrating, accumulating, conserving and distributing. The tectonic setting of BANQIAO-BEIDAGANG Belt is complex with many faults ended early. The activity not only controlled distribution space of petroleum and formations of traps but also had an important effect on hydrocarbon accumulation, formation and distribution of large reservoir.According to the observation and interpretation of the geologic sections and the former studies of this region and the analysis of its seism and log data, with the method of structural analysis, the paper discusses the regional tectonic characteristics of BANQIAO-BEIDAGANG structural belt and its control to oil and gas reservoirs from the aspects of structural kinematics and dynamics of structural evolution. The study shows that there are large-scale faults oriented in NE and NNE, characterized by long-term activities and uniform relationship with the oil source. The main faults and NW transverse accommodation fault zones form structural framework of this region. Extensional structure style and strike-slip structure style are developed in this belt. And the extensional structure style is main, in the evolutionary process, it was fluxion. By means of statistics, analysis and research on the fault activity ratio, the intensity and scope of fault activity show that the periodical and early end of fault activities, classification on variation tendency.Based on fault activity ratio and tectonic development history, combined with regional tectonic setting and large-scale structural deformation, the structural belt is a result of dextral, extensional strike-slip activities. According to the direction of tectonic stress, the dynamic activities can be divided into three different periods. However, its different extention activities in different sections finally resulted in a transverse accommodation zone. The multi-stage fault movements caused the complexity of the sets of reservoir and seal associations, forming a multiple oil-bearing sequence. The distribution law of oil & gas controlled by structural belt and fault zone. Fault is the main factor. The multi-period activities of fault controls the distribution of oil source rock and reservoir, and gas migration directions. Their forming phases controlled the vertical superposed mode of oil & gas. The activities also controlled the lateral distribution of oil & gas.On the foundations of these the fault is the main control factors of reservoir formation and its present situation, We propose a further exploration areas, such as the delta-front mouth bar of Ed Formation controlled by brush fault nose system, shallow reservoirs in BEIDAGANG Belt and the subtle reservoir near the transverse accommodation fault zone .
