The present thesis is mainly concerned with the issue of robust synchronization of a class of nonlinear systems. Based on the adaptive sliding mode control tecnique, some new synchronization criteria of robust synchronization are derived for such a class of nonlinear systems with synmetric coupling. Furthermore, the obtained results are applied to the problem of the robust syschronization of the Hindmarsh-Rose neural modle systems. Finally, the numerical simulation demonstrates the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed control method.
