This paper considers a sliding mode control of uncertain systems with time-varying delays. For uncertain neutral systems with multiple time-varying delays and for uncertain systems with distributed delays and time-varying delay, the design of the sliding mode controller guarantees that the sliding mode is asymptotically stable in terms of linear matrix inequality and Lyapunov function. This paper is composed of three chapters:In the first chapter, some background knowledge of sliding mode control for delay systems are introduced, and the preliminary knowledge which is necessary in the paper is given. In the second chapter, it considers a sliding mode control of uncertain neutral systems with multiple time-varying delays. the design of the sliding mode controller guarantees that the trajectory of system can be driven onto the sliding surface in a finite time and maintains motion on it. By defined the function, it gives a sufficient condition in terms of linear matrix inequalities such that the closed-loop system is guaranteed to be asymptotically stable. In the third chapter, it considers an adaptive global sliding mode control of distributed delay systems with time-varying delays. An adaptive sliding mode con-troller was designed based on the adaptive control scheme and sliding mode con-trol scheme. In terms of linear matrix inequality,time-delay dependent sliding mode surface was designed based on time-delay transformation model of free-weighting matrices.
