Iodine is one of the important index signs of environment and food examination, closely related with person's health and life. Ion selective electrode or spectrophotometry are widely used as iodine detector nowdays.They have respective characteristics, application scope of measuring concentration, and influence on environmental factors. Therefore it is very meaningful to construct a processing platform combined with these two kinds of methods to put together their advantages.In this paper, a method on how to design a platform combined with Spectrophotometer and ion meter is introduced. Photodiode is used as light signal detector; iodine ion-selective electrode is used as ions concentration sensor.Embedded system is designed using ARM chip as core according to this method, to realize system control, data acquisition and processingg, and storage. Embedded operating system uclinux is transplanted to conduct management of peripheral equipment and programming, made it possible to control the processing platform by one chip.And embedded database sqlite is transplanted to carry on management and query of the data. Finally, software running on Upper-Machine based on java is develpoed to achieve the serial communication interface between platform and computer receiving the data of concentration measurement from platform, showing the data on PC and saving it in the form of file.The results of experiment in prophase show that data acquisition chip reached the accuracy requirement of the system.The following work has been finished during this paper: 1) The application of spectrometer and ion meter in the field of iodine detector is discussed as well as the advantage and disadvantage of these two methods, on the basis puts forward a design scheme of the construction of processing platform.2) Using high-brightness LED as the light source, monochrome filter plate and photodiode as the optical system, the collecting channel of spectrometer has been tested, at the same time the channel of ion meter has been simulation tested.3) Embedded system hardware of platform with ARM chip LPC2214 is designed, and the embedded operation system uclinux is transplanted to carry on management the system resources and task schedule.4) Software running on Upper-Machine based on java realize data receiveing, displaying and storage is developed.5) MINIGUI embedded graphical user interface is transplanted, the structure of MINIGUI and how to program the driver has been analyzed, and the application program is developed.6) Embedded database sqlite is transplanted to realize the storage and management of concentration data, querying and uploading data, which makes the operation and maintenance of data more convenient.7) Network circuit module is designed, the resources of the host computer could be shared in the way of mounting NFS file system, make it easy to develop and debug programs.
