Landing gear is one of the key parts of the airplane, it is used for bearing corresponding load which the plane produces in taking off and landing or parking on the ground. Because the landing gear must withstand the heavy load, moreover the working conditions in which it works are greatly complex, the strength analysis to the landing gear is an important step in the design work.This thesis uses the Ansys Parametric Design Language (APDL) which the ANSYS software provides, carries on the parametric finite element computation to the shock strut. The interaction between the shock strut and various appendices are simulated by the establishment of contact pairs. This thesis discussed the application method of contact analysis and its importance to confirm the reliability of the simulation. The establishment method of shock strut constraints condition and the reasonable simplification and exert method to the load is also discussed in the article. Some main questions and the processing method to which must be paid attention in the simulation computation process are summarized here. The strength of the shock strut is validated by the stress distribution rule of the shock strut under six kinds of different operating modes obtained through the computation.The theoretical calculations of some spots on the shock strut are selected in this article. The theoretical calculation results are compared with the simulation results, and the comparison has confirmed the reliability of the simulation result. In addition, the simulation results are also compared with the experimental results to confirm further the reliability of the simulation results. Finally, bases on the result of simulation computation and takes advantage of the highly effective characteristic of APDL language, experimental improvement has been made on partial structures of the shock strut in shape and has obtained the good effect.
