Formation of Tibetan Plateau both leads to the intensively tectonic deformation of the interior of Asian continent in late Cenozoic Era and exerts a great influence on the landforms pattern and environmental evaluation of the surroundings areas. For such reasons, research on the uplift mechanism (kinematics and dynamic mechanism) of Tibetan Plateau and the modern tectonic deformation caused by uplift processing are always a hotspot concerned with geologists.Eastern margin of Tibetan plateau is located at the border between Tibetan plateau and outcrop Sichuan Basin, and Songpan-Ganzi orogenic belt Longmenshan thrust belt and Foreland basin there are all important studying regions about the interaction between Tibetan plateau and its surrounding environment. Meanwhile, Eastern margin of Tibetan plateau underwent a significant landform deformation and the outcrop there is quite obvious, moreover, geological processes remains activated currently and the uplift process of Tibetan Plateau are well recorded by the local landform and water systems.In recent years, research relative to uplift mechanism of plateau mountains and model of orogenic belt evolution has taken more attention on evidences of surface processes in crustal evolution, and more semi quantitative—quantitative methods have been applied in the surface processes studies, among which digital elevation model (DEM) has a wide application.Taking Songpan-Longmenshan Region in Eastern margin of Tibetan plateau (E98°-E107°30′,N30°-N36°40′) as study area, the thesis carries out a research on spatial analysis of surface process with the application of digital elevation model. By employing GIS and DEM data of studied area, the relevant geomorphological parameters are calculated and analyzed from several aspects (slope, waviness and longitudinal profile, etc) to reveal the current physiognomy morphological character and its formation reasons. On the basis of those above, digital geological map and the other relevant materials, drainage systems of study area consists of the main rivers there (Tao river) are analyzed and distribution of the main geological structure belt and features of new tectonic movement in Songpan-Longmenshan Region can be concluded from the characters of drainage network development.
