This article gives a particular research on the distribution regularity, formation, age, type, engineering property and foundation bearing capacity of the calcareous concretions soil in HuaiBei plain, Anhui province. By field geology study, test and exploration, the author had drawn formation map of the calcareous concretion, the plane distributing map and the typical stratum section map of the calcareous concretions soil in this area after consulting mass of engineering geological exploration report and special data. The calcareous concretions are leaching and depositing under the groundwater which has rich HCO3--Ca++, the calcareous concretions soil mainly distribute in the river plains, the marsh land and Yellow River plains. The paper discussed age, formation and type of the calcareous concretions soil, which generally divided embryonic, gestalt and hardpan layer. This analyzed embedded and distribution regularity of the calcareous concretions soil in the east-west direction and the south-north direction in this area. The calcareous concretions were from small to big while section was from upside to underside. The embedded elevation and ground elevation were changed basically consistent, ground elevation height while embedded elevation height, ground elevation low while embedded elevation low. The author, based on the method of the load test and static cone penetration test, analysed the foundation bearing capacity property of the calcareous concretions. There was statistical analysis of test results by the method of linear regression, and the regression curve was compared with the theoretical curve. The table about the foundation bearing capacity of the calcareous concretion soil was finished, which could be applied to inspection of the foundation bearing capacity of the calcareous concretion soil in this area. Besides, the author made an analysis which calcareous concretion did harm to soil, the existence of calcareous concretion caused soil heterogeneity and anisotropy and thus the strength of soil was also very uneven.
