In modern days with new technology rapidly developing and updating, different subjects are having more and more impacts on each other, such as Earth Science, Cognitive Science, Visual Arts, and etc. Maps, which are called "Geography encyclopedia", is now evolving from traditional 2-dimensional static expression to multi-dimensional visualized or even interactive, virtual experiments. In the progress, modern multi-media innovations, such as computer science, internet connection, virtual and 3S technology help to illustrate maps. At the same time, maps extend their functioning areas from simple information display and natigation into spaces analysis, knowledge discovery and decision making support. Based upon what discussed above, the paper researched on the dynamic expression in multidimensional multivariable symbols and diagrams and deeply discussed the proposal of methods on level, logic, structure, focusing, interactivity and explanation. Then designed feasible realization approach.The exploration is based on the platform on Flash technology, supported by CorelDraw and Photoshop, and guided with the principle in visual variables and cognitive theory in maps. Meanwhile, combined with the technical characteristics of Flash, together with key technologies such as data conversion and through the relevant examples, the realization of multidimensional multivariable symbols and diagrams is described in detail.70 test takers are chosen to verify the dynamic examples in the same experimental conditions, through which analysis and comparison are made on the static and dynamic expression on multidimensional multivariable symbols and diagrams. Evaluating on the data from the testing results, the conclusion is that the dynamic expression contains a certain overall advantage compared to static expression.A series of analysis and experimental data indicated that dynamic expression in multidimensional multivariable symbols and diagrams has changed the traditional way of message in singleness.
