The Construction Of Vector Communication Subnet And Implementation Of Terminal Protocol Driver

Based on the Vector-network (VN) theoretical system which is gradually perfected, this paper researches on how to complete the transmission of data through Vector-network on local area network and proposes a new conception of virtual fusion switch in Shared Ethernet. A new structure of TCP/VN stack has been designed, too. After the comprehensive analysis of current popular network technologies including IP, ATM, IPv6+MPLS, etc, this paper elaborates the special advantages and application prospect of Vector-network. And the Vector-network also satisfies the requirements of the next generation network (NGN). Low cost of QoS, separation of routing from forwarding and separation of identity from switching address are all discussed in this innovative system. On the basis of the new address coding method, Vector-network can create the connection.In order to verify the feasibility of this theory, we have designed and constructed the experiment platform. The experiment contents have covered the construction of Ethernet, the programming of protocol driver on the Vector-network terminal node, the design of virtual switch and the research on TCP/VN programming interface. Besides, it also completes the design of call and routing protocol over the equivalent switch. For the sake of spreading and application, we have chosen the popular operating system-Windows XP and the link-layer network-Ethernet to develop our Vector-network. Finally, terminal nodes have successfully finished the data transmission. The result of this experiment verifies the correctness of Vector-network and the rationality of the selection of programming interface. This paper has restored the structure of the network layer well after the research on IPv6 experiment source code. It lays a good foundation for the next work, too.
