The key to keep the latter part of the high water content oil field stability is to in-depth understand and further understand the distribution of the remaining oil. In this paper, introduce the research status and new progress of distribution of the remaining oil on the domestic and international, and research methods and technology of distribution of remaining oil. The study of distribution of the remaining oil in three main respects: the geological formation and control factors and development factors of distribution of remaining oil; the distribution of the remaining oil; predict accurately the distribution of remaining oil and improve oil recovery efficiency measures on water. Especially in the period of the latter part of the high water content, the reservoir characteristics within the heterogeneous have an larger effect on the distribution of the remaining oil, the study from the reservoir plane, layer and layer of the heterogeneity of the apricot Southern District of Daqing Oilfield PI group delta plain subfacies and the delta front subfacies shows that the relations of the heterogeneity of the reservoir and the distribution of remaining oil. So, fine study delta heterogeneity nature of the reservoir can clearly understand the distribution of the remaining oil, thereby can effectively guide the adjustment of tap the potential oil field development. Finally, introduce the development of the situation of the Daqing oilfield apricot Southern District and facing the number of issues at present, and the reservoir water flooding situation, after decades of exploitation, Daqing Oilfield has entered the latter part of the high water content and even the late period of particularly high water content, the remaining oil was underground"Overall highly scattered, local relatively rich"status. Research shows that sand body type and characteristics can control the distribution of the remaining oil in macro, therefore, fine study sand reservoir characteristics have great significance in determining the remaining oil-rich region, and understanding the distribution of the remaining oil, predicting the remaining oil in the reservoir accurately, in particular its distribution in the enrichment site, and the adoption of reasonable mining methods and other measures to be more effective in recovery of remaining oil and improving the recovery of oil field injection.
