The electronic map system for mine is developed to assist rescue robot for mine disaster, and serves the robot's navigation system. With this system, you can pick-up paths information, which is needed by the navigation system, from existing papery maps or electronic maps after mine disaster. This system can also help the navigation system to explore the mine purposively. These can save the time of rescue. The electronic map system can reading various type data of mine's maps. It ensures that the lanes' data can be picked-up efficiently. This system also set up spatial database of laneways and make the inquiry between the graph and attribute come true. With it you can browse and roam in the map. This system adds the node topology map information for the vector map, so it can do the analysis for the rescue robot. It can create raster map form vector map. In this paper, the followings have been studied and solved:Mapping: By supporting GIS and CAD format and manually drawing 3 methods of mapping, the system achieves the reading of papery and electronic maps. To extract the valid data and reduce the mount of data, This system also carries out the query browse and modify of maps.Add the node topology and do the shortest path analysis for vector maps: Via reading the node information of laneways, the electronic map system can get spatial information of all of laneways. Analyzing the nodes' information using graph's theory to get topological data of nodes, then the system will save information of node and topology information. After setting start and end node, the system will get and display data of the shortest path via analysis by using the shortest path theory.Conversion from vector map to raster map: The system achieves the reading of vector and raster map, and carries out the conversation from vector map to raster map.Establish of laneways' spatial database: After the extraction of spatial information of node and node topology, the information will be saved into the database.
