Research On Production Method About Electronic Sand Table

The Electronic Sand Table, also known as Three-dimensional Geographic Information System, is the combination of Remote Sensing, Geographic Information Systems and Three-dimensional Simulation. At present, the application of Electronic Sand Table has extended from military field to a lot of fields, including fields of Land Resources Management, Land Use Planning, Project Planning and Designing, 3D Landscape Planning, Fire Rescue, Real Estate Planning etc.With rapid development of Remote Sensing, Geographic Information Systems and Three-dimensional Simulation technology, the production method of Electronic Sand Table have sprouted up based on differernt platforms, different data sources and different simulation technologies. This paper is mainly to discuss the production method that based on the popular Three-dimensional display platforms of ArcGIS and SkyLine, and analyze and compare the characteristics of these two production method.This paper provides directions for others and promotes the development of Electronic Sand Table.In this paper, we choose aboat 35 square kilometres aerial image as pilot region in Nankou town, Changping District,Beijing , and extract elevation data and vector datas form 1:10000 topographic map respectively, describing in detail the flow,key technologies and characteristics based on the platforms of ArcGIS and SkyLine, developing the Electronic Sand Table Showing Systems combined with popular programming language. Meanwhile, combined with the achievement of The Second National Land Survey, the author applies the technology of Electronic Sand Table to the showing of countryside land survey achievement and achieves the satisfied result. The contents are summarized as follows:(1)In this paper, the author using 3Ds max platform, analyzes in details the step of the making the model and the matters needing attention, which dramatically used in the contruction of the digital city and also have supplied precious peference value.(2)Introducing the Electronic Sand Table production method and key technologies based on platform of SkyLine which not only provide fuctions of land surface analysis, information query and measure but also supply the functions of scheme comparision and sight analysis. Virtual reality technology take a crucial step from the the traditional system of three-dimensional demonstration that emphasize the look to the function that emphasize the use, which dramatically make the solid foundation for the promotion and development of the three-dimensional technogy.(3)This paper based on the platform of the ArcGIS and SkyLine respectively analyzes in details the differents of data source requirement, the effect of the three-dimensional display, the functions of the surface analysis etc, and makes the conclusion of the result in the in tabular form.(4)The author applies the technology of Electronic Sand Table to the showing of countryside land survey achievement,combining the achievement of The Second National Land Survey investigated Si tan village Jing tai county, Gan su Province, China and according to the inquisitional datum have developped the rural land survey results system...
