Tu Ha basin, located in the Xin Jiang Uygur Autonomous Region in China, is about 660 kilometers long from west to east, which is the one containing the coal and the oil and gas in Tian Shan mountains. The source rocks that upper Permian, Triassic, Jurassic and cretaceous provide a favorable foundation for petroleum resources to develop in Tu Ha basin. Although the proven gas reserves (biogenic gas- low maturity gas) which derives from non- high temperature and heat approximate to 100 billions, there is still no report on effective ways in evaluating its generated volume and resources volume, which has made negative effects on the decisions for exploration potential and lucrative target. To solve this problem, the methods of element balance, chemical kinetic and biochemical kinetic are tried to be established in order to evaluate the generated volume of biogenic gas- low maturity gas. With large amount of actual analysis data from Tu Ha basin, these three evaluation methods are calibrated and applied, and then the values of resources volume of biogenic gas and low maturity gas are calculated out with corresponding migration and accumulation coefficient. The results show that the resources volume of biogenic gas and low maturity gas are probably between 7.09×1011m3 24.42×1011m3, among which, resource volume of low maturity gas is about 3.26×1011m3 13.05×1011m3, indicating that the gas from non- high temperature and heat in Tu Ha basin has great exploring potential, and that J2x, J1 stratum and the near ones are the favorable target to explore.
