"In the 21st century, as the great development in Chinese further education,calculus' development will get a new era.Today calculus walks into high school all over the country except Shanghai.It gets closer to ordinary people and is no longer so mysterious. Now to improve the teaching level becomes more and more urgent."Professor Zhang Dianzhou's remarks not only remind us the great prospects of calculus in high school, but also make us alert to the current situation in Shanghai.Just like calculus' history, calculus in high school is on a bumpy way while it is appreciated by many mathematicians and emphasized by pretty scholars. In secondary school, students have the opportunity to choose it as elective curriculum,which shows more attention than that in Shanghai.According to the historical progress, we should be aware of its greatness as a useful tool for middle school students.Because of the lack of calculus in high school in Shanghai area,freshmen,as the special group in the transition of high school and university, are of great help to the research on calculus in high school.Therefore, the article focuses on the freshmen's feedbacks and learning stages.320 students from five departments under four curriculums took the test. In order to arrange proper calculus teaching,we get to know their attitudes towards calculus learning,the difficulties on derivative, the impact of the experience of calculus in high school. With transcendent recursive model of derivative's applications, considering the comparison of differences between students in two departments under the same course and differences among students under different courses, we could conclude these:1.The experience of calculus in high school is of great help for the learning of calculus in university. As the high school students are capable to understand,it is necessary to take in action right now.2.Learning model of departments has a negative impact for the mastery stages of derivative's application.Overwhelming theory learning of calculus frightens the students. It is proper in high school to teach easy contents, such as the concepts and operations of limit, derivative and integral.3.Freshmen need an improvement on the ability to deal with the application of derivative at a high level.We should start the training from high school.
