Chaos,as a very interesting nonlinear phenomenon ,has been intensively studied in the nonlinear dynamical system, it widly lies in nature. Recently, chaos control and synchronization have been an active research of the nonlinear subject. The new technology promises to have significent impact on many novel engineering applications. The challenging research field has become a scientific inter-discipline involving many other fields. The thesis mainly focuses on the control and synchronization of chaos of nonlinear system. The main content is depicted as follows:In the first chapter, background and study conditions in the research for control and synchronization of chaos are introduced.In the second chapter, the basic theory and definition of chaos dynamics are presented.In the third chapter, the control and synchronization problem of a new Lorenz-like system are discussed. First, we analyze the dynamic behavior of the system , By using the backstepping design method we formulate a simple controller to control the system to its unstable . Suppose one parameter was unknown, we study the synchronization of the system. Numerical simulations with Matlab are presented to show the avaicability of our design.The forth chapter discuss the system adaptive control and synchronization problem. First, we analyze the dynamic behavior of the system .then we obtain the sufficient condition of the system control to unstable equilibrium point ,simulation results prove the effectiveness of the method above.In chapter five, we summarize the whole dissertation and the further research in the future.
