Sustained and steady development of national industry must have an adequate reservation of mineral resources which is an important foundation for national economic. Mineral exploration is particularly important because it is the premise and basis of resources exploring. Exploration of mineral resources at home and abroad by:geological mapping method, topography method, geological remote sensing method, such as geophysical methods. In this paper, taking the project of Miao Stockaded Village of Yiliang Country of Yunnan Province as an example to explain the RS Prospecting method.During the process of RS Prospecting Prediction, author proposes a method which is to establish 3-D image terrain modeling to help researcher using 2-D image to accomplish the RS geological interpretation progress. The main idea of paper, on the geological interpreting basis of QB image, firstly, using the methods of the remote sensing image processing which are image synthesis, geometric rectification, fusion and orthographic correction make the image clearly.Secondly, using RS and GIS technology, DEM model was overlaid with the QB image to create 3-D image terrain model. As 3-D model with three dimensional feature and spatial sense, at the same time, it can be well reflected in the surface topography of the natural landscape, and be highlighted in the display of special lithology. Thus it makes up for the deficiency of 2-D images in the visual feature and reduces the difficulty of interpretation progress, and improves the accuracy of interpretation. The main interpretation contents contain:Rock, Rock Association, Stratum, Structure (folds, fracture), Mineralization and Alteration information.According to the regional geological data, it endows interpretation contents with the corresponding geologic age, and sets up framework of sequence strata. On the basis of metallogenic regularity, it is to predict four useful ore finding target areas by mean of multi-source data integration.In paper, using ENVI software system achieves to establish 3-D terrain model with simple 3-D spatial feature and does not require complicated procedures. It is easy to solve specific problems in reality, and simplify the whole complicated process of establishment. Furthermore, it will widely broaden the application fields.
