Since its application in electrical engineering in 1965, the finite element method (FEM) has proven to be a powerful tool for the computation of electromagnetic fields. With the more widely FEM method used in electromagnetic simulation fields, the open boundary condition problem and the interface problem have attracted the interest of many researches in this simulation fields. The problem about the open boundary condition and the interface problem is deal with in this paper, basing on the immersed finite element (IFE) and particle in cell (PIC) method in the simulation of plasma. The advantage of IFE method on interface elements is show with comparing with some old method on dealing with the interface elements. During the process of the research on the open boundary conditions, several methods which are widely used in this domain are considered and at last the asymptotic boundary conditions (ABC) method is choose in this paper to settle this problem. The method on solving the asymmetric matrix is added to the solver in order to test the assumption in ABC is accepted. The code in this dissertation is finished with the FORTRAN language. Next the surface jump problem in the simulation domain is settled. Based on the rectangular grids, the method dealing with the surface jump problem is added an additive load vector to the formulation which is composed with the stiff matrix and the load vector.Through computing simulation on some simple examples and comparing with the analytical solution of these examples, the fact that the research in this dissertation can figure out the open boundary problems and surface jump problems very effectively.
