It cannot meet the increasingly wide application as the difficulty and extremely low efficiency to machine Nickel-based superalloy GH4169 with conventional cutting speed. With the appearance of tools material (such as Sialon ceramic and CBN) with higher strength and more hot-resistance and numerical control machine tool with higher rigidity, the efficiency can be improved dramatically with high speed machine (HSM), what's more important is that the precision of machining is higher and the surface we got is much better. Nevertheless, there is little fruit seen on the paper of the investigation of high speed cutting GH4169, so it is important and urgent to do the experimental work of high speed cutting GH4169 for the significance of theory and extensive value of application.Firstly, the present status of the results of the investigation of high speed cutting GH4169 is analyzed. The speed of the tool disengaging of the langrage explode equipment to make tool disengage rapidly used in the experiment is computed. The paper studied the chip conformation, the characteristic of cutting distortion section and distortion coefficientΛh (cut angleΦ) etc by taking off the sample of chip root with conventional and high cutting speed with a lot of experiments.Secondly, the cutting force of turning and end milling with conventional and high cutting speed is studied by this paper with experimentation of single factor.Lastly, the experiment of end milling is finished for GH4169. And the surface integrity is investigated particularly with conventional and high cutting speed, excluding surface roughness (Ra and Rz), degree of hardening N and depth of hardeningΔhd and residual stress.The results show that, compared with conventional speed, the cutting distortion is pretty lower, the cutting force decreased, the surface integrity is better in a degree with high speed cutting. According above, high speed machine is proved to be a practical solution to the problem of difficult cutting of machining GH4169.
