TiAl-based alloy with high strength and modulus and good creep resistance, antioxidant capacity and anti-hydrogen embrittlement .It is a potential high temperature structural and light materials. Although the study as a structural material, but do not have find a more appropriate method of forming,in particular,γ-TiAl based alloys.Spray forming technology directly makes materials and billets from the liquid , which structure is dense, the organization is refined, the composition is uniform, the structure is complete and close to the actual shape of parts. This technology has important application prospect. The structural parameters of catheters directly affects the result of atomization during the spray forming process. This article set different catheters structural parameters, simulatedγ-TiAl based alloy insulation process and the atomization process with FLUENT during the spray forming process.Then this paper analyzed the results and optimized the best option. This paper established a model of insulation, changed the flow of sand into the initial velocity of crucible entrance, then calculated.This paper established a model of insulation, changes the flow of sand into the initial velocity of crucible entrance, then calculate. It analyzed changes in the flow field distribution and the temperature and speed of outlet. It used data fitting regression analysis to determine the initial conditions of the atomization process.This paper analyzes atomization conditions when the extended length of catheters was 5mm.When the inner diameters of the catheters were 4mm or 5mm, the fluid was easy to return back to plug catheters; when the inner diameters of the catheters were 10mm or 15mm, metal droplets can not be a second spray; when the inner diameters of the catheters was 6mm,γ-TiAl based alloys could be carried out spray forming. Experiments further confirmed its feasibility.
