Most of CGO was processed by FCC apparatus, and the high basic nitrogen compounds in CGO were easy to cause catalyst poisoning and deteriorated FCC products distributions. In order to improve FCC light oil yield and economic benefits, an easy and efficient process to treat basic nitrogen compounds should be presented. On the base of analyzing CGO properties, composition, and inhibition mechanism of basic nitrogen compounds, this paper presented an inhibition process firstly, which used inhibitors (petroleum acid, oleic acid) to reduce toxic effects of basic nitrogen compounds, and investigated two inhibitors'best process conditions and the effects on FCC process. The results indicated that at the best process conditions with inhibitor addition 10%, the oleic acid and petroleum acid inhibition rates were 84.92% and 90.35% respectively, and their oil yields were both 110%; when CGO was treated by oleic acid and petroleum acid, the FCC reaction conversion rate increased by 3.42% and 3.58% respectively, the light oil yield increased by 2.47% and 2.93% respectively. In conclusion, inhibition process were not only high inhibition rate, no oil loss, easy to impement, and no pollution, but also could inhibite toxic effects of basic nitrogen compounds efficiently and improved FCC products distributions. The article also studied the best extraction conditions of furfural and the effects on FCC process, The result showed that the inhibition rate and oil yield were 74.25% and 89.24% respectively at the best process conditions of furfural with addition 50%, when CGO was treated by furfural, the FCC reaction conversion rate and the light oil yield were increased by 5.06% and 3.44% respectively.
