The process for Producing pyridine catalyzed by HZSM-5 zeolite was optimized. The yield of pyridine34.01% and 3-picoline 12.80% was resulted at the temperature 450℃, air speed 900h-1, formaldehyde/acetaldehyde ratio 2, and N value 2.The catalysts for producing pyridine were prepared by HZSM-5 modified by lead or cobalt for improving the yield and the performance of the modified ZSM-5 zeolite was evaluated. The yield of pyridine was 50.73% and 3-picoline was 15.21% when the exchange concentration of Pb ion 2.5%. The yield of pyridine was 53.06% and 3-picoline was 18.2% when the exchange concentration of Co ion 0.5%. The yield of pyridine was 58.72% and 3-picoline was 16.14% when the exchange concentration of Pb ion 2% and Co ion 0.5%.The catalysts microsphere for producing pyridine were prepared by spray drying the slurry of kaolin, pseudo boehmite and modified HZSM-5 zeolite and the structure and the performance were investigated.
