Senecioic acid ester as an important fine chemical raw materials widely used in the synthesis of medicine, pesticide, perfume and other chemical products. However, the current production process long and serious pollution, toxic and harmful residues in'the products, high investment and energy cost and many other issues which seriously affects the production and application of Senecioic acid ester. With the gradual increase of market demand, it is necessary to in-depth study and improve the current production process. In this article, the esterification catalyst, production process and application of basic was study, the results have some theoretical significance and engineering application.Common esterification catalysts were screened, and catalytic activity and fitness of various catalysts in the synthesis of Senecioic acid ester were compared in the subject. According to the different of esterification reaction, choose the para-toluenesulfonic acid as the homogeneous catalyst and the 732-type strong acidity cation exchange resin as the heterogeneous catalyst for the esterification reaction.Synthesis of senecioic acid ester by using para-toluenesulfonic acid and 732-type strong acidity cation exchange resin as the catalyst and senecioic acid and methanol as raw materials, methanol outer cycling adsorption water technies. Study the main factors which affect the esterification rate and obtain the optimum reaction conditions. The optimum reaction conditions by using para-toluenesulfonic acid as the catalyst were:amount of catalyst lOg/mol by measure of the acid, molar ratio of alcohol to acid 2.0:1, reaction time 5.5h. At the optimum reaction conditions the average esterification rate of three parallel tests is 99.44%. The optimum reaction conditions by using 732-type strong acidity cation exchange resin as the catalyst were:amount of catalyst 22g/mol by measure of the acid, molar ratio of alcohol to acid 2.4:1, fixed mixing speed 800r/min, refluxed reaction time 16h. At the optimum reaction conditions the average esterification rate of three parallel tests is 99.47%. Catalyst regeneration is good performance after reused. Research has found that the esterification process of using homemade outer cycling zeolite packed bed to absorb water has high esterification rate, low energy consumption, large reactor loading capacity and small separation burthen and so on.Study the esterification reaction kinetics with isothermal method using p-toluenesulfonic acid as catalyst. At the reaction condition of outer cycling zeolite packed bed to absorb water, the reaction can be regarded as irreversible reaction. According to the theory of homogeneous esterification, established that the reaction temperature at 344.15K-352.15K range of reaction kinetics. The apparent kinetics was investigated and obtained:the reaction order of the synthesis was n=2, the apparent activation energy was Ea=65.494kJ/mol, and the apparent reaction rate equation wasThe reliability was verified that the relative errors was less than 4%. Show that the kinetic equation in the experimental temperature range was more reliable.
