With the rapid development of micro mechanical manufacturing technology and wide application of micromachine into engineering field, micro wire electrical discharge machining has become one of important means of parts precision processing, and emphasis attention has been got and a great amount of money has been invested among many countries all over the world, for it has higher processing efficiency, better processing precision and surface quality, ability to process complex three-dimensional parts and many advantages of other precision processing methods can not replace.So far, the research on micro electrical discharge machining technology at home and abroad are a lot of, but the research on tribological properties of electrical discharge machining surface are very few. The tribological properties of the surface is directly related to the use of performance and working life, so research in this area is particularly important. With in-depth study of friction test, the micro convex peak and micro pit morphology of micro electrical discharge machining surface has shown unparalleled good tribological properties relative to machining surface. Study of micro electrical discharge machining surface tribological properties, and as a basis for select electrical parameters in the process of micro electrical discharge machining, undoubtedly it will play a promotion role on micro electrical discharge machining technology and the use of machine tools. Hence, it has important theoretical research value and broad application prospects.In this paper, first, analysis and comparison micro-morphology difference between micro wire electrical discharge machining surface and machining surface, and comparison micro-morphology changes of micro wire electrical discharge machining surface with different electrical parameters during processing. Processing of different three-dimensions surface morphology data in Matlab platform, modeling and analysis, gained two-dimensional autocorrelation function and supporting area curve of surface profile convex peak. Second, to solve the problems of small parts fixture, micro-friction measurements, foreign friction tester are expensive and some tests can not be completed, developed a small multifunctional friction tester. And developed the testing software system can be data collection and storage and dynamic friction coefficient curve shows for the friction tester. Through a lot of friction and wear test at different loads and speeds, contrast the differences of friction, wear and lubrication performance among micro wire electrical discharge machining surface with different electrical parameters during processing and different machining methods surface. Depth analysis of the micro electrical discharge machining surface friction properties, wear resistance and lubrication performance. Compare machining surface, draw the conclusions from analysis of friction, wear and lubrication formation mechanism that micro electrical discharge machining surface have good tribological properties than machining surface.
