Analysis On Concept Of "Reverence For Nature"

The blind obtain from natural resources in mode of western industrial social development, causes a series of environmental crisis. In order to solve environmental problems and establish the harmonious relation between human beings and nature to achieve the sustainable development of ecological environment, human beings began to self-question along with nature's behavior. "Reverence for nature" was gradually formed in this social reality and environmental context of evolving, and it is related with not only ecological deterioration and negative effect of scientific development, but also the consensus of environmental pessimism and growth experience of ecologist. This paper comprehensively, systematically and dialectically studies the main ideas, theoretical characteristics, forming causes, limitations and contribution, then reveal its positive significance and reduce its negative influence.In ancient times, human beings reverence nature instinctively due to poor living conditions and limited cognitive ability. Now, as an ecological concept, "reverence for nature" already has a new background, and played a very important role in respect of protecting nature according to ethical principle. With the increasing enhancement of environmental protection consciousness, most people are willing to accept the idea of respect and concern nature, thus "reverence for nature" has almost become the mainstream ideology of ecological environment protection. But this concept also has theoretic limitations, such as love for nature only stays in thought, has not been incorporated into social operation system to solve practical problem. In addition, blind reverence is easy to cause extreme ecology supremacists.This thesis againsts that the concept of "reverence to nature" becomes the mainstream ideology of ecological environment protection from the angle of critical comments, and advocates that take overall, coordinated and sustainable principles guiding development in our country. It also reminds that environmental philosophy research should invest social reality deeply, and examine the deep social causes of ecological problems to set up a correct concept of ecological civilization.
