This dissertation is mainly divided into two parts:the first section is the:application of N-heterocyclic carbene palladium complexes in the organic reactions; In the second part based on our group's former work, we expanded the application of the phosphorus compounds in the organic reactions. There were three chapters included.PartⅠ:We examined the chiral C2-symmetric N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) palladium complexes derived from BINAM in the reaction of asymmetric a-hydroxylation ofβ-keto esters. The results showed that the species of the oxidants and the volume of the reactant had significant effects in the reaction. Under the optimized reaction conditions, we got the corresponding products in high yields along with moderate enantioselectivities.PartⅡ:In the second chapter we investigated the functionalization of benzyl nitriles with the imine. After our initial work, we could obtain the corresponding adducts in good yield and dr values. This part of work is still underway in our group.PartⅢ:We have demonstrated a novel highly chemoselective reduction of C=C double bonds in electron-deficient alkenes derived from isatin promoted by alkyl phosphines with water under mild conditions, affording the products in good to excellent yields. Moreover, a plausible mechanism is proposed on the basis of deuterium labling control experiments. Efforts are in progress to elucidate further mechanistic details of these reactions and to understand their scope and limitations.
