Liu wei di huang tang, a famous herbal formulas in Traditional Chinese Medicines, comprises 6 different kinds of single herbs: Radix Rehmanniae, Fructus corni, Rhizoma Alismatis, Rhizoma Dioscoreae, Cortex Moutan, and Poria. Modern pharmacological studies have shown that this formula have function of the Kidney-Yin Deficiency,the regulation of the immune function and bioactivities of aging .Photosynthesisbacteria have many nutritional component . It can improve animal livability and ability of anti-illness when it is used as feedstuff additive . Photosynthesisbacteria have the function of anti-radiation, regulation of the immune function and biological metabolism. So photosynthesisbacteria is regarded in exploitation and apply of domain of medicine and food.In this study, modern biotechnology and traditional Chinese medicine prescription are judiciously integrated, so as to study and develop modern Chinese medicine compound preparation. the photosynthetic bacteria, after introducing to the classic rehmanniae decoction of six ingredients exploratorily, utilized the nutritional contents of themselves and its biological transformation function to improve the drug efficacy thereby. To take advantage of vacuum freeze-drying technology, the photosynthetic bacteria metabolic liquid of liuweidihuang could be made a biological agent of loose texture, dissolution speed and good stabilityDifferent drying methods of the biological agent of liuweidihuang had been investigated in this paper。The liuweidihuang photosynthetic bacteria decoction was dried under vacuum freeze-drying or drying under reduced pressure . the contents of paeonol and gallic acid in the corresponding drying methods are analysised by HPLC and the result indicates that either the loss rate of paeonol or the loss rate of gallic acid under drying under reduced pressure is evidently higher than the loss rate under vacuum freeze-drying. to a greater extent, the contents of paeonol and gallic acid in the biological agent of liuweidihuang are ensured under Vacuum freeze-drying.To conduct the Pharmacodynamic study of the biological agent under different drying methods, the life span experiment of drosophila was made. The average, maximum life span and and the half the time of death were taken as indicators to the comparison of the effection of extending the life span of drosophila by the two biological agents under different drying methods. The result indicates that ,to a greater extent, the biological agents of liuweidihuang under Vacuum freeze-drying could prolong the life span of drosophila.The preparation process of the Vacuum freeze-drying was investigated. The appearance, color, redissolution time and water content were taken as an indicators to the investigation of the type of freeze-dry protectants, the dosage of the protectants, the pre-freezing temperature, the pre-freeze time and the liquid layer thickness. The result is that the freeze-dried product of uniform color, fine texture, smooth surface, good soluble was obtained, and the water content of the freeze-dried product met the standards as well. In this paper, quality standards and primary stability investigation of this biological agent were successfully carried out.
