Aluminum alloy casting technology is becoming a great attention, as themechanical and electrical products have tended to be thin-walled, complex andlightweight. Investment Casting has a wide range of applications, because its productshave a higher dimensional accuracy and surface quality than those made other castingmethods. But it may also exists many limitations, such as a great variety of interactiveparameters, a long production period, high defective index when made thin-walledand complex surface products.First, program for casting process parameters is established by orthogonal design.Next, I have simulated flow field, temperature field and stress field of InvestmentCasting in ProCAST software. Then, find out the optimal combination among variousbit-level programs of all factors. In this paper, I select fused silica to confect coatingfor its lower density and linear expansibility; select quick-drying silica sol as the shellbinder because of good castability, high efficiency and environmental protection.Calculate refractory particle's radius ratio and content ratio, according to dense pilesphere model and the spherical center geometrical relationship. That is on the basis ofCubic-Network Model and Mooney M.-Formula in the rheology. Single factorrotation test is applied to ascertain the powder percentage and the solid-to-liquid ratioin coating. According to test results of coating viscosity, set up the quick-drying silicasol coatings formula. Carry out convective drying on tablet model with orthogonal test.Use range analysis to deal with experimental data, take drying time and deformation into consideration, to obtain the optimization program of drying parameters.Finally, use motor frame and floor flange to do shell baking and A-alloy pouringexperiment. It takes 34 hours to make the whole shell, so the production efficiency isgreatly improved. After dewaxing, the shell has better quality with smooth surface andno cracks. Experiment result show that process parameter optimization program hashigh reliability and it is of great economic significance.
