In order to conduct the analysis and prediction of water environment, an important basic work is to simulate numerically the hydrodynamic behaviors and situations of the water body with hydrodynamics and water models. And based on water quality simulation of GIS we can provide the situation and the outcome for simulation and prediction of water quality for environmental management and environmental monitoring departments intuitively and conveniently. The paper is to simulate the law of hydrodynamic and water quality of Mopanshan reservoirs with three dimensional hydrodynamic and water quality models combining the GIS simulation numerically system for lakes and reservoirs'water environmentUsing geographic information system technology for application development, the whole system is divided into the database module, simulation module, the simulation results visualization module. The basis for simulation such as boundary conditions data, time parameters data, and simulation parameters data and so on, is stored and managed through the use of GIS; the calculated results are displayed with the visual display color rating chart. The entire research process is coupled in GIS; the GIS technology has played full spatial information and attributes information collection, storage, analysis, display of advantages, with good application value.Finally, Mopanshan Reservoir is studied with the water environment numerical simulation system of lakes and reservoirs. The simulation results of the flow field shows that the flow field in Mopanshan reservoirs is significantly influenced by wind stress. Water flow below the surface is complicated. The article analyses the influence of flow field on water quality. The hydrodynamic results show that the thermal stratification exists during the period of whole year. Based on the water temperature stratification in different periods, this paper analyzes the causes of the reservoir temperature stratification and the impact of water quality and agricultural irrigation. Water quality simulation selects the common quality parameters, like COD, DO and NH3-N as the research objects. The results of water quality simulation show that the water quality constituents are also stratified during the time of whole year. Based on the results of water quality simulation,The causes of the impact of water quality and agricultural irrigation.The water environment numerical simulation system of lakes and reservoirs is related to spatial data and attribute data of the water environments the core, and GIS provide technical support. Environmental information is stored and managed for real-time accurate environmental information and monitoring information of environmental management and water quality model will be integrated with GIS for realizing the processing, analysis and visualization of environmental information. On this basis, the water environment is simulated, predicted, and then for environmental planning, decision-making to provide supplementary information.
