ANSTMCTAt the present, the large high-sPeed precise aluminum foil mills all over theworld are in open(clearance) restrain condition because their comPlicated rollSystems contain gaPs, Which exist between beedng chock and house windows,intemal ring and outer ring of bearing, convex lug of beedng chock and stop p1ate,and so on. Consequentiy severe vibration occurs When the mill is dring and forcethe mill to run at a low sPeed. Moreovef, it is always attendat with undesirableshaPe, broken Strip accidrms, melting loss and short longevity of thrust bearing ofwork roll. These entire decline the rate of finished product5 and dist-UYb productionbaalrAgainst the severe melting accident of end drist bearing of work roll chock of2350 aluminUm foil mi1l tha resuits ndg abnonnal, five industrial tests havebeen comPleted.In this dissertaion, the chock of work roll is acted as investigated subject, andresearch is Progressed from the viewnoint of mechanism and dyndrics.First, signals of vibration and axial fOrce of 2350 alUmnurn foil mill wereanalyzed, then the reason that bring melting loss of thrust bearing of work roll werefOUnd, and the new problem of hOrizontal vibration of chock is Presented. It isimPossible for the chock to work steadily with force restrain alone in the house. Thehorizontal and axial occurs during wig of chock. It is the vibraton tha resuhabnormal cross between work roll and back roll and a big axial force, which resuhthe melting loss.Second, based on test data analysis, in order to describe it's mechanism, 2350foil aluminum work roll bendng chock-dynamic characteristic is simulated by theBEM and FEM methods. NatUral frequency and mode of chock with open restrain orOPen and close comPound restrain are calculated, so does the displacement Undercorresponding exctalon. And the influence to the vibratile characteriStic of who1e- II -ABSTRACTmill which is caused by work roll chock under the open restrain and close restrain, is calculated. These calculations supply theoretical basis for improvement of bearing chock vibration characteristic and longevity lengthening of thrust bearing.Finally, on the base of test and theoretical analysis, the controllable project to solve the problem is put forward, and the test of the mill with crossing angle and clearance control apparatus is progressed, the melting loss is avoided. The controllable theory can be also applied to other large high-speed premise plate mills.
