Production methods of fibroin powder prepared with physically grinding,calcium chloride(CaCl2), hydrochloric acid(HCl), sodium hydroxidesolution(NaOH) and enzymes (Papain, Trypsin and α-Chymotrypsin) areintroduced in this paper. While producing the fibroin powder, torrefactionmethod, freezing evaporation method and sparge desiccation method wereadopted. Production rate, water-solubility, brightness of fibroin powder wasknown in the researchIt was with SEM that the outer shape of the powder was researched andwith TG and DSC that the thermochemical properties were studied.The research showed that the appropriately hydrolyzed condition washelpful to prepare fibroin powder with high production ratio and water-solubility. Hydrolyzation degree could cause the brightness difference of thepowder. The brightness of the powder produced with physically grinding,CaCl2, and enzymes was higher than produced with HCl and NaOH.Determining result of AAS showed that the content of Pb and As in fibroinpowder was under 0.lmg/kg.Determining result of IR showed that the content of D-sheet structures,α- helical structures and random coils were different in the powder. Thesecaused the different crystallinity. Then it affected the shape of TG-curvesand DSC-curves. The inflexion temperature and peak temperature on thecurves varied from each other.
