Abstract The X桯 rolling method is an advanced rolling technics in the H-beam production field. It is implemented in the three-stands reversible tandem rolling set. The vertical rollers are drum form in the first universal stand and they are columniform in the second universal stand, it can produce finish product. Such layout form can shorten the length of the workshop and reduce the investment so that the H-beam manufacturer can make much more profits. The vertical rollers of the first universal stand are drum form. The affection of vertical roll cone angle on force parameter and flange spread. To give out vertical roll cone angle of the X桯 method, the upper bound method is used to analyze the affection that the vertical roll cone angle pla~抏d on the power parameters. Under the precondition of approximately equation of web elongation and flange elongation, the affection of vertical roll cone angle on the H-Beam flange lateral spreading is also analyzed in three aspects: the ideal speed difference between web and flange, side depression and horizontal roller side twist rolling. Many experiments had been done on the three stands reversible tandem rolling set. Under the precondition of mill bar and absolute gauge reduction, cone angles changed. The law is given by it. From the theoretical analysis and experimental result, conclusion is obtained: cone angle augment, flange spread and rolling torque decrease. In order to realize auto-control of the X桯 method, this paper gave out the mathematic model about the procedure cogging and course auto-control of the three stands reversible tandem rolling set. Comprehensive analysis, It is suitable that vertical roll cone angle is 5 degree in the X桯 rolling method.
