In this paper, the technological conditions of preparative microcapsule from sodium alginate and dibutyl phthalate solution of crystal violet lactone were studied, and the microcapsule used in carbonless copy paper was made by single cogulation process. This paper not only established technological process, but also detem-iined the optimum process conditions, such as emulsifying conditions, flocculating conditions, solidifying conditions, the concentration of wall-materials and the ratio of core to wall and so on. At the same time, we made the comparative analysis of applicability for the finished microcapsule. This paper confirmed that the microcapsule from sodium alginate and which is used in carbonless copy paper by single cogulation process owns higher embedding ratio and better nonpermeability stableness and strength. By comparative analysis of applicability, we concluded that the microcapsule from sodium alginate used in carbonless copy paper had the same advantages as domestic and foreign抯 in the characteristic of use, stableness and the speed of color development and so on. In addition, the preparative conditions of microcapsule from sodium alginate by single cogulation process can easily realize, and preparative period is shortened, and the production cost is reduced. However, there are some disadvantages, for example, the microcapsulestrengthis nottoohigh, these need further research and improvement.
