un iun: Symhesis and Applications of The New Metalloporphyrin and their self-assembled monolayers in Electroanalytical Chemistry Abstract In recent years, electroanalytical chemists have been fascinated with the construction, characterization and application of chemical nanostructure at electrode surfaces. Efforts have been made to explore the potential benefits of organized monolayer films also. The main goal has been the manipulation of the molecular architecture of the electrode surface, thereby controlling the rate and/or selectivity of the heterogeneous electron-transfer process. Since it was introduce by Sagiv, the self-assembly method has emerged as one of the most powerful methods of fabricating organized organic monolayers on metal surfaces. Especially, alkanethiols on evaporated gold or silver surfaces have been studied extensively. A variety of complex molecules have been converted to thiol derivatives to fabricate self-assembled monolayers. Novel properties and applications of these monolayers include corrosion protection, molecular recognition, photolithography, biocompatibility. surface wetting control photoresponsive structures and electron transfer control. One of the most attractive application of such surfaces would be the utilization as a model electrocatalyst because the true correlation between the surface structure and the electrocatalytic activity can be obtained only when the surface structure is well-controlled. Among the many possible candidates for the electrocatalytical active center, porphyrin is the most attractive because of its well-known functions in biological and biomimetic system. On the basis of above facts, a series of research work was carried out in this thesis, which is reported in five parts as follow. We introduce the process of SAMs formed and application of SAMs in six aspects in electroanalytical chemistry: 1. Study and application of alkanethiol self-assembled monolayers to enzyme. 2. Study and application of self-assembled monolayers(SAMs) in spectroelectrochemistry. 3. Study and application of self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) in pinhole. 4. Study and application of self-assembled monolayers(SAMs) in Liquid cbromatogrampy. 5. Study and application of self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) in catalyzition 6. Progress of porphyrin in electroanalytical chemistry. Part II Synthesis and Charaterization of new porphyrins and their complexes It is not easy to synthesize and purify mercaptoporphyrin. Accordingly. application of mercaptoporhyrins is not extensive. It is few reported that mercaptoporphyrins were synthesized. In order to modify metalloporpyrin on the gold to SAMs. we widely studied all kinds mono-substitute porphyrins. On the of these bases, Three new mercap-toporphyrins and their metal complexes were synthesized. 1. meso-tetra(p-mecaptophenyl)porphyrin (two m...
