The utilized alcohol in waste water from alcohol industry may be recovered through adsorption of the waste water and their desorption of alcohol loaded activated carbon by microwave radiation. The paper measures the changes of new activated carbon iodine value under the condition of microwave radiation and studies desorption condition by microwave on activated carbon that is loaded by alcohol. The paper also discusses the relationship between desorption efficiency and microwave power, liner speed of carrier gas, the time of microwave radiation, adsorbing quantity of activated carbon by experiments. The result shows that the number of cycle influence the adsorption capacity of activated carbon can be ignored. The result also proves that the recovery of alcohol by means of microwave radiation is more economical than that of traditional method, it seems for another substance such as alcohol and methanol. The paper shows the temperature by microwave radiation is regular, it have not decomposing of activated carbon under the condition of excessive heating the time of desorption is short and achieving alternative heating to the evaporated substance and convenient recovering the useful substance can be achieved by condensation. The method of desorption of alcohol loaded activated carbon by microwave radiation has the extensive application prospect.
