In the design of the structure of universal mill, the dimension of horizontal roll chock influences the whole structure of the universal H beam mill greatly. While, the hole thickness of the horizontal roll chock in universal H beam mill is confirmed by experience in present. In order to solve this problem in theory, according to the force variables of universal H beam mill that Ma An Shan mill provided, taking the existing role of the horizontal roll chock as initial model, using the two梔imensional elastic contact Finite Element Method, this thesis has analyzed the horizontal roll chock as well as the bearing based on the program MARC. And then, it has been given out that the contact stress, the contact stress distribution, the stress centralizing, and so on. In order to simulate more exactly and obtain an more accurate result, the finite element model used in this study consists of several separate models: the chock, the outer race of the bearing, the shaft and the inner race of the bearing, and the each roller in the bearing. The symmetrical geometry of the roll chock, bearing and roller loading simplifies the analysis to that of a half model of the assembly. This facilitated generation of a finer element mesh in areas where high stresses and deformations were anticipated and provided a more accurate mathematical model. At the same time, this model takes into consideration the internal bearing clearances which play an important role on the roller load distribution.After that, this thesis has simulated and analyzed a series of situations with the changed role thickness of the horizontal rolling mill, and obtained the law of the change of contact stress with different hole thickness. Taking the safety coefficient and the chock distortion into account, the method to determine the feasible thickness of hole of the horizontal roll chock is presented. Many curves related are offered in the thesis.At last, this thesis calculates the load distribution of the roller?II ?bearing with the analytics method. And compares it with that calcWates with the FEM. The latter is more even and rational.This study provides a basis for the references and the design of universal mill.
