The dischiff base of O-ethyl-thonophosphoryl-dihydrazine with two molecules of salicylaldehyde (H2L), and its Mn(III), Fe(III), Mo(VI) complexes have been synthesized. The dischiff base of O-ethyl-thonophosphoryl-dihydrazine with two molecules of 5-Br-salicylaldehyde and its Mn(III), Fe(III), Mo(VI), Zn(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Co(II)complexes have been synthesized too.Elemental analysis ,IR , UV/vis, and molar electroconductivity measurement were used to characterized all the compounds, hi addition, the ligands were identified by 'H-NMR and MS. The molecular formula and possible structure of compounds were proposed based on the characterizations. The ligands are quadridentate and they coordinate with the metal ions through imine nitrogens and phenolate oxygens. Some complexes are tetracoordinated and some are pentacoordinated.Some of the complexes were tested by illumination method for their affections on relactively survival rate in paddy seed sprouts and almost all the tested complexes could promote the relactively survival rate at the proper concentrations. Of the two series complexes, MLer complexes have more efficacy. is the best.Some of the complexes were experimented for the influences on the activities of the peroxidase in paddy seed sprouts by illumination method. The result showed that almost all the experimented complexes could activate the POD at proper concentrations. Of the two series complexes, ML complexes have more efficacy.Some complexes were used as catalyst to catalyse alkene epoxidized. The result is follow: styrene epoxide can be found if the oxidant is sodium hypochlorite; no styrene epoxide can be found if the oxidant is aqueous H2O2.
