This project makes use of parametric technology to develop CAD system of machine tool fixture .It can solve some problems of tradition machine tool fixture such as long design period, low design efficiency and so on. Therefore, it can increase design speed, reduce repetition laboring and satisfy rapid and flexible request of modern manufacture system. As a result, increasing competing power of the enterprise.The project runs on Windows 98/2000 or Windows NT4.0 platform. It is two-dimensioned parametric CAD software that is developed secondarily on the basis of AutoCAD 2000. Main developing tools are FoxPro that is used to build basic database and Visual C++6.0 and ObjectARX as a compiler to enhance a user-friend interface.In this thesis, the concept, developing survey, constitution and application at home and abroad of CAD are reviewed. The design of mainframe and every module of the system are introduced in detail. The key techniques during developing are expounded briefly, such as object-oriented techniques, secondary-developing techniques of AutoCAD, parametric techniques, techniques for interface designing and engineering database operating. The application of these techniques in the software is described as well.
